There are certain things you should be aware of whether it is a kit of parts as shown above or an almost complete car as good looking as the one below.
Un-finished kits can be advertised at any stage of build process anywhere in between these two JBAOC stock photos shown. They can be a very good buy depending on price and providing the correct paper work is supplied with the Kit.
Without the proper paperwork your dream could turn into a disaster.
The most important piece of paper is the JBA Engineering Ltd. Sales Invoice or Bill of Sale as it also called and contains all the important manufacturers data the authorities require to SVA test and Register your vehicle with the DVLA.
Price Look at the kit in person or advertised contents and compare the cost of the kit with the parts you would still need to buy, including a paint job, add these together and include SVA test fees to see if you consider it is still a good buy. Take into account that all parts fitted may not be EU approved, such as door handles, instruments, lamps, mirrors, petrol cap etc might not conform to the new SVA regulations and may need to be replaced with EU marked parts. Parts prices can be found from firms in our suppliers page.
Always get written confirmation of the complete list of parts and paperwork included from the vendor before parting with any money.
SVA & DVLA Documentation Requirements
